Data Loggers: The Backbone of Borehole Logging Systems

Data loggers are essential in any borehole logging system. With modern digital sondes, the data logger primarily functions as a telemetry unit, controlling the communication between the probe and the control software. The quality of these devices becomes evident when high-bandwidth sondes, such as optical and acoustic televiewers, are operated at their maximum sample rate.

Thanks to modern computing technology, a standard laptop PC is more than capable of running the control software, providing a user-friendly interface with simple graphical displays. This enables the operator to confidently analyze the data in the field.
