Fold Calculator

This calculator quickly computes the seismic fold based on the number of channels and channel separation along the streamer. It also requires input for the tow ship’s speed (in m/s or knots) and the shot interval (in either meters or seconds). In addition to the maximum fold coverage, the spacing between Common Mid-Points (CMP) in meters and the distance and time between shots are displayed in the table. The diagram illustrates the ray paths between the shot and the receivers. By clicking ‘Next Shot,’ the diagram updates the ray paths and CMP stack number until full fold coverage is achieved.
