Fold Calculator

This calculator provides a quick calculation of the seismic fold when given the number of channels and channel separation along the streamer. The speed of the tow ship in m/s or knots and the shot interval in either metres or seconds is also required. Along with the maximum fold coverage value the spacing between Common Mid-Points(CMP) in metres and the distance and time between shots is displayed in the table. The diagram shows the ray paths between the shot and the receivers. By clicking ‘Next Shot’, the diagram updates the ray paths and CMP stack number until a one full fold coverage has occurred.
